1970 Schwinn Cotton Picker Krate Origninal vintage 1970 schwinn cottno picker krate this is the rarest krate of all serial number is kf 67609 is on the bottom of the head tube. This bike was owned for at least the last 20 years by my neighbor who recently died and his wife asked me to help sell the bike. From what she can tell me the bike has not been repainted in the period that they owned it so if it was repainted it was a vrey long time ago.
The bike si in very good condition. A few paint chips here and there but no ednts in the frame. The octton picker logo on the chainstay guard looks ok. The white paint is chipped but cotton picker part is still there. Everything is original as far as i can tell. Teh tires appear to be original but i cant be sure.
They are in good shap but have nomal cracks from age. They still hold air and look surprisingly good. The cranks, stem and handlebars have been rechromed and they look gorgeous. Top of the line chrome was done. The rest of the chrome on the bike looks really good!
The seat is original but wsa recovered about 15 years ago. The bike was rarely ridden and stored indoors all the time in a temperature controlled environment.
I'm no expert on vintage schwinn's but this one looks really nice. Not perfect but definitely a worthwhile collectors piece. Take a good look at the pics and i'm ahppy to take more of specific places if you would like. Feel free ot contact me with any questions you may have.
